Fact :

An Ostrich beat a thoroughbred horse in a race at Oaklawn.  

When people think of Arkansas, they immediately think of Ostriches, right? 

Well in the 20th Century, the Ostrich Farm in Hot Springs had over 300 Ostriches! 

Thomas A. Cockburn started the farm where his two largest Ostriches, Black Diamond and Whirlwind became quite the attraction. These two birds were almost 10 feet tall and 400 pounds and would pull people around on carts down crowded Central Avenue. Oaklawn supposedly even had a race between one of the Ostriches and a horse!!

The bird was victorious at a short distance but couldn't hang with the thorougbred for a longer distance race. I think I am going to buy an ostrich now.

Analyze :

Let's Analyze the shear awesomeness of this jeans advertisement. 

This does a great job of showing how these jeans will enable you to kick a dude in the junk and lift him into space never to be heard of again. 

And I am not sure what is cooler...that there is a martial arts line of jeans...

or that there are some badasses out there that only buy...jeans from martial arts supply companies. Talk about some alpha males!

Reflection :

Sheryl Crow and her band grabbing some shirts before the show. 

Reflecting back to River Fest 2015 when Sheryl Crow was the headliner. Her band stopped by our tent and bought a bunch of tees which they represented on stage.

Sheryl is from Kennett, Missouri which is not too far from us and I remember her telling us she had ties to Arkansas...which I can't remember now but it may have been something like her brother went to A-State. That could be completely made up though as that was 8 years ago.  Funny story, she may have gotten some flack from some of her fans for taking this picture wearing our "Teabagging Louisiana" tee.
